Jeremy Courtney started farming at Crouch’s Farm in 1963 with only 8 milking cows and 105 acres. Since his childhood Jeremy has had a passion for farming, which he shares with his wife Anne. Together they have grown the farm so that they now look after over 250 dairy cows, manage 300 acres of grassland and grow over 400 acres of maize, wheat and barley. For more information about our farm, please see the Crouch’s Farm page.
In 1988 Jeremy and Anne began to convert some of their farm buildings into commercial units because they were unable to maintain the farm business without finding alternative means of income. Courtney Commercial now advises other farmers and landowners how to do the same and provides ongoing management and letting services to properties. In 1988 we also established Courtney Storage, providing secure caravan storage on site. Together the three businesses form the Courtney Group.
Jeremy is a Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Society and has served as a governor of Plumpton Agricultural College for over fifteen years. Anne is a qualified Chartered Surveyor. Both Jeremy and Anne are members of the Worshipful Company of Farmers, with Jeremy serving as Master in 2010 and Anne having an ongoing role with the Affiliations Committee. Both are keen advocates of British agriculture and are committed to contributing to the wider farming community.
