We have a busy working farm, looking after over 250 Friesian Holstein dairy cows and 150 young heifers. Each cow produces between 9,000 and 10,000 litres of milk a year and we have an autumn calving herd so we’re particularly busy between August and November with all our new additions. We have a dedicated team which is committed to looking after a happy and healthy herd.
We also grow maize, wheat and barley on the farm which is harvested in the autumn. Some of our crops are used as food for our cows and the rest we sell to be made into a variety of foods including bread, biscuits and beer! Over 50 acres of the land is part of an Environmental and Ecological Scheme to enhance the wildlife habitat and attract pollinating insects, birds and a range of other wildlife.
We are happy to provide educational farm walks for groups who would like to see a working farm and to find out more about what we do. Please do contact us if you would like to arrange a visit.
